The answer is not handing over every decision. It is choosing the boundaries first. You decide what is actually on the table; the app gives the final pick a little ceremony and somewhere else for the blame to land.
Pick the right amount of chance
Coin Flip · two choices
Use Coin Flip when the choice is binary: this book or that one, drawing or blocks, heads or tails. Assign one acceptable option to each side, flip, and move on. It feels more official than “because I said so” and requires less paperwork than a family election.
Fair-ish Wheel · three or more
Add the possibilities you have already approved, then give the wheel a spin. Dinner ideas, rainy-day activities, the next game, the first turn—whatever is taking longer to decide than to do. Chance makes the pick; the grownup still sets the boundaries.
How the handoff works
Start with options you can genuinely accept. If you are not prepared to make pancakes, pancakes do not go on the wheel. Boundaries happen before the spin, where they belong.
Two possibilities get a Coin Flip. Three or more get the Fair-ish Wheel. The app turns a plain answer into an event that feels visible, shared, and satisfyingly official.
Let the result stand when it can. If safety, timing, or common sense says otherwise, grownup judgment still wins. Another Grownup is backup for the decision-maker, not the boss of one.
Good things to leave to chance
The decision wheel works best for ordinary, low-stakes moments where every available answer is already okay with the grownup on duty.
